Project Overview
Go Park Sai Sha, Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited’s (SHKP) flagship sports, retail, and leisure destination in Shap Sze Heung, New Territories, has been serving the community for over a year since its grand opening on 22 January 2025. The development has garnered leading sustainable building certifications, including BEAM Plus and WELL Community. Notably, Phase 1A (2) of the residential portion is the first project in Hong Kong by a private developer to achieve WiredScore Platinum Pre-certification for Homes. These accomplishments set a new benchmark for sustainable communities in Sai Sha and demonstrate SHKP’s ongoing commitment to ESG principles and creating a sustainable built environment.

The Mission
Spanning 300,000 sq. ft., Go Park Sai Sha bridges Wu Kai Sha with Sai Kung Town Centre, offering diverse sports, entertainment, and shopping experiences. To meet stringent energy efficiency standards and support its sustainability certification goals, SHKP sought reliable HVAC solutions that would enhance operational efficiency without compromising environmental responsibility. Trane’s Solution
As part of its overall sustainability strategy, SHKP selected two Trane® RTAG-XSE air-cooled chillers, a CIC Platinum-rated product, each with a cooling capacity of approximately 1,200 kW. These chillers offer advanced features such as a variable volume ratio helical-rotary compressor with a permanent magnet motor, electronically commutated condensing fans, and integrated industrial-grade anti-corrosion protection. The RTAG-XSE chillers deliver strong performance, with a full-load coefficient of performance (COP) of 3.50 under Building Energy Code (BEC) standard conditions, and enhanced efficiency during partial load operation.
Additional features include robust construction for reliable, low-maintenance operation, a three-level acoustic package for reduced noise levels, and the Trane® Symbio® 800 Programmable Controller for easy integration with building management systems and streamlined, remote operation.

Key Outcomes Since its commissioning, the Trane air-cooled chillers have contributed to the overall sustainable management of Go Park Sai Sha, supporting SHKP’s ESG objectives in several ways: -
